Context matters as much as mechanism. The signal peptides are studied in topical formulations, where penetration through the stratum corneum is itself a research variable and molecular weight largely determines whether a sequence is a plausible topical candidate. The copper tripeptides appear in both topical and injected research contexts. The melanocortin analogs appear in systemic contexts only.
